Kazakhstan road plan – budget secured

Kazakhstan has set a budget of US$1.08 billion that will be used to build new roads as well as to upgrade and maintain existing links. In all the country has 23 separate road projects planned, which will see improvements to 4,200km of roads in all. Tolling systems are being installed on three major routes.

  • Austria road and tunnel development plans

    Major road and tunnel development plans are being set out in Austria. The country’s road traffic management business, ASFINAG, has set a budget of €1.1 billion for new works to be carried out during 2018. A planned 50% of the budget will be utilised for building new roads or for tunnel works. The remaining 50% will be used to pay for necessary road repairs and maintenance works. In addition, Asfinag has set a budget of €100 million to introduce the latest toll collection systems.

  • Loans will help fund Kazakhstan road project

    The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) is providing an infrastructure loan that will help fund a key road project in Kazakhstan. A major portion of this funding will be used to construct a key 79.5km portion of the new international transit corridor connecting Western Europe with Western China.
