A new ring road project is being carried out in Israel to improve transport for East Jerusalem. The project is costing US$250 million.

Work is being carried out at present on the southern and central sections of the ring road. These sections will connect Maaleah Adumim and Har Homa.

The tender process for the northern stretch of the ring road will open later in 2020. This stretch will include the construction of a 1.6km tunnel lying to the east of the Mount of Olives.
