A Japanese funding package worth US$112 million will help pay for infrastructure improvement works in Honduras. The package includes $20 million that will be used to build a bridge in the city of Danlí.

Located in El Paraíso Department, the city of Danlí lies close to the border with Nicaragua and around 92km to the South West from the capital, Tegucigalpa.

This follows a $607 million loan from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI to help pay for the construction of a new highway connecting the port city of La Ceiba and El Progreso in Western Honduras, and close to the border with Guatemala.
