Italian highway tenders underway

Tendering is underway for key Italian highways.

Tendering is opening in Italy for a number of the country’s key highway routes

Tendering is underway in Italy for the concessions for four important highway connections. These routes run between Tuscany and Liguria and the concessions are worth a total of €2.5 billion. The 12-year concession packages will be grouped together, with the tendering being managed by Italy’s Ministry of Transport (MIT).

    The contract for Italy’s new Pedemontana Lombarda highway is likely to be handled by a consortium headed by Austrian contractor Strabag. The agreement will be finalised in September 2011.
