Italian highway tenders underway

Tendering is underway for key Italian highways.

Tendering is opening in Italy for a number of the country’s key highway routes

Tendering is underway in Italy for the concessions for four important highway connections. These routes run between Tuscany and Liguria and the concessions are worth a total of €2.5 billion. The 12-year concession packages will be grouped together, with the tendering being managed by Italy’s Ministry of Transport (MIT).

  • Key projects in hand for India

    The Indian Government plans to build a new highway connecting Katra with New Delhi. The route will be some 600km long, running through Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir. A consultant is being selected to carry out a feasibility study for the project. The project will cost in the order of US$2.25 billion and will be of importance as Katra is where the Vaishno Devi holy shrine is located. The new link will reduce travel time on the route from 11-12 hours at present to five-six hours when the work is complete

The tenders cover the widening, maintenance and operation of some 2.028km of highways. The tender process is being handled by Brazil's national ground transport agency, ANTT. The largest tender is for 1,177km of highway and including BR-060, BR-153 and BR-262.
