Italian highway tenders underway

Tendering is underway for key Italian highways.

Tendering is opening in Italy for a number of the country’s key highway routes

Tendering is underway in Italy for the concessions for four important highway connections. These routes run between Tuscany and Liguria and the concessions are worth a total of €2.5 billion. The 12-year concession packages will be grouped together, with the tendering being managed by Italy’s Ministry of Transport (MIT).

The country’s Ministry of Transport has announced that it expects to complete upgrading and widening work on National Highway I by the end of 2016. The upgraded highway will improve connections between the cities of Chan Tho and Hanoi. The project is being carried out under a build-operate-transfer model and has is expected to cost some US$4.27 billion.
