Italian construction machinery exports see growth during 2019

Italian construction machinery exports have seen growth during 2019. These climbed by 1.9% during the first nine months of 2019. This data has been unveiled by SaMoTer-Prometeia Outlook, which carried out analysis of Istat data. The survey indicates that exports in the period January-September 2019 grew to €2.24 billion, compared to €2.19 billion in the same period during 2018. This increase was associated in particular with exports of concrete machines, which grew by 15.8% for a total of €246.63 million, and aggregate preparation machinery, with exports of €422.66 million a growth of 9.9%).

Sales to India jumped by 96.5%. Sales to Europe were also healthy, with both territories seeing increased demands for earthmoving machines and road making equipment. Sales of concrete machinery also grew by around 20% in Europe and 49.2% for North Africa.

The first three quarters of 2019 also saw Italian imports of construction machinery grow significantly to €802.14 million, compared to €714.25 million in 2018, a growth of 12.3%.

The SaMoTer, the International Construction Equipment Trade Fair is scheduled 21-25 March 2020 in Verona, Italy.
