714 IronPlanet is holding a machine auction in the UK for 2294 Cat Auction Services. The event will be hosted by 1413 Finning UK & Ireland. The auction will take place on Tuesday 18th October at Rockingham Motor Speedway, Northamptonshire. The event is aimed at buyers of heavy used equipment from the UK and other international markets. The on-site auction event will also be supported by IronPlanet’s online marketplace, which allows bidders to participate online from anywhere across the globe.

IronPlanet’s first UK auction in April attracted 17,580 prospective buyers both physically on-site and through IronPlanet’s online platform. All 176 items that were up for auction sold, generating around £4.9 million in gross merchandise volume.

Felipe Fernández-Urrutia Massó, vice president of European Sales at IronPlanet, said, “The success of our previous Rockingham auction was unquestionable, and reiterated what we already knew – that the demand for heavy used equipment – both in the UK and overseas – is steadily climbing. The pick up from the Spanish, German, Sweden and Irish markets in particular has continued to grow, and I am excited to see how this will translate for the upcoming auction this autumn.”

Each machine will be showcased on IronPlanet.com in advance of the October auction, and buyers who are unable to attend in person can bid online in real-time.

During the preview period before the auction, PriorityBids can be placed to give buyers a better chance of winning their items. Each unit will also be backed by IronPlanet’s equipment inspection certification and inspection reports, which detail the condition of the machine to its potential buyer.

Bidders will also be able to view detailed inspection reports ahead of the sale. For buyers unable to be physically present for this auction, there is the option to use IronPlanet’s new Livestream service. This allows buyers to both hear and see the auctioneer in real-time from anywhere in the world.
