A series of toll road projects is being planned for Indonesia. Tenders are due to open shortly for contracts for nine major toll road sections. The road stretches will measure a total of 350km, with a total value of over US$10 billion. The tenders will be handled by Indonesia’s Public Works and Housing Ministry and will be offered under the PPP model.

Meanwhile, work will commence on the new bridge linking Batam with Bintan in the first quarter of 2021. The bridge is benefiting from $607.2 million of funding from the Indonesian Government. The construction project will help improve transport between the two islands, replacing the ferry service operating at present. The two islands lie immediately to the south of Singapore.
