Indonesia toll road development plan

Indonesia has further plans to expand its toll road network. By 2024 1,500km of toll road projects will be complete. And by 2030, around 4,480km of toll roads will be complete. This programme of works will require US$44.33 billion to complete. Funding will be provided from a combination of government and private sources. The work will be carried out across Indonesia, including Nusa Tenggara, Java, Bali, Sumatra, Sulawesi and Kalimantan.

    Indonesia’s state-owned toll operator, Jasa Marge, is bidding for two major toll road projects. The toll road operating concessions are for the Balikpapan-Samarinda and Manado-Bitung routes. The 99m Balikpapan-Samarinda toll road will connect capital Jakarta with East Kalimantan province.     Toll road operator Jasa Marga of Indonesia has added four contracts at a cost of nearly US$2.4 billion to its highway concession portfolio. Jasa Marga hold equity of between 55% and 65% in each project, according to a report by the Jakarta Post newspaper.     Indonesia is working on plans to develop its toll road network during 2019. A further 400km of new toll roads will be completed during 2019, bringing Indonesia’s total toll road length to 2,000km in all.
