Indonesia seeks investment for West Java toll roads

Indonesia is going ahead with three toll road concessions in West Java, according to the head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency, Herry Trisaputra Zuna. The three toll roads - Cileunyi-Banjar; Ciranjang-Padalarang; and Sukabumi-Ciranjang - will need total investment of up US$1.54 billion, he said. However, tenders will not be held this year, as preparation work for the projects, including feasibility study and land documentation, are only now being reviewed.

Indonesia is going ahead with three toll road concessions in West Java, according to the head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency, Herry Trisaputra Zuna.

The three toll roads - Cileunyi-Banjar; Ciranjang-Padalarang; and Sukabumi-Ciranjang - will need total investment of up US$1.54 billion, he said.

    Building work for the toll road connecting Cileunyi with Sumedang and Dawuan in Indonesia will now be complete ahead of schedule. The route will open to traffic in 2020, instead of 2021 as originally planned. The work is being carried out in six separate sections. The contractor Citra Karya Jabar Tol is currently building sections 4, 5 and 6, having completed section 3, with the work costing close to US$555 million. Work is also well underway on sections 1 and 2 for the project.

    Three toll road projects are being planned in Indonesia. Financing for the projects is being provided through the Indonesia Infrastructure Guarantee. In all, the three projects are worth a total of US$2.17 billion. The toll roads are from Tebing Tinggi to Parapat, from Cileunyi-Sumedang to Dawuan and from Serang to Panimbang. The contracts are expected to be signed in March 2017.
