Indonesia road repairs planned for 2019

A road repair and maintenance budget for 2019 has been set by Indonesia’s Ministry of Public Works and Housing. Some US$2.66 billion will be used to ensure that Indonesia’s major road and bridge links are maintained correctly. Bridge works figure largely in the plans for 2019.

    The authorities in Peru are planning a series of key infrastructure projects that will boost connectivity and communications in the country. Contracts are being prepared for tender with the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) setting a budget of some US$15.55 billion in all.     Mexico’s transport and communications ministry (SCT) looks set to open tenders for 258 highway projects in 2014. Tenders for 13 projects covering work to repair, upgrade and widen over 2,000km of roads have already been revealed. Tenders being opened will also include building bridges and bypasses around congested urban areas. Key tenders include 48 in Chiapas, 35 projects in Oaxaca, 24 in San Luis Potosi and 11 in Guerrero and Veracruz. The road projects will account for some 20% of the overall infrastruct

    Work is on track for the building of a key toll road project in Indonesia’s East Kalimantan. The 99.35km toll road runs between Samarinda and Balikpapan and will cut the travel time between the two from three hours to just one hour. The project is costing US$653.2 million to carry out. Work is almost complete for the stretches from Muara Jawa to Palaran and from Samboja to Muara Jawa sections.
