India’s Maharashtra State is setting out a massive programme for infrastructure development. In all some US$47.08 billion of infrastructure works will be carried out. Transport development is a key priority, with a series of major highway construction projects now being planned.

    The Costa Rican Government is setting out plans for a series of road repair and upgrade projects. Several key routes have been identified as being in major need of improvement works. These include roads linking the capital, San Jose, with Cartago, Limon, San Ramon and San Carlos. Some US$350 million will be used to carry out the road projects.   • Six new highways for India’s Gujarat State

    In India work is in hand for six new highways in Gujarat State. Approval for the projects has been given by the Indian Government. The new links will be two lane National Highways. The longest of the six links will be the 181km connection between Mahuva and Jetpur, with the next longest being the 165km Radhanpur-Charada stretch and followed by the 163km section between Bhimasar and Khavda.
