A Canadian firm is taking over three highways in India from Essel Highways. The US$472.8 million deal is for the the Essel Devanahalli Tollway in Karnataka state, the Lebad-Jaora highway in Madhya Pradesh and Essel Dichpally Tollway in Telangana. The Canadian company is Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ)

    The French city of Bordeaux has awarded Razel-Bec a contract for construction of a new bridge across the Garonne River. The city of Bordeaux awarded Razel-Bec one of the largest urban development project in France, construction of the Simone Veil Bridge. The 550m bridge over the River Garonne will be 45m wide and lie between Bordeaux and the city of Floriac. Construction will start in September and take around 32 months.     Land is being acquired for a major expressway project in India. In all 10,649 individual land sale arrangements have been made with 20,916 owners for the Nagpur-Mumbai expressway project. Buying the land has cost close to US$775 million so far, with around 86% of the land needed for the project having now been acquired. The deals have been handled by Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).
