Highway projects for China’s Henan Province

A series of highway projects have been budgeted for China’s Henan Province. In all some US$15.8 billion will be spent on 14 separate highway projects, which will stretch in excess of 1,000km in all. The projects are starting in 2022. The work includes building seven cross-provincial highways, three urban highways and two Zhengzhou City highways. They also include building two Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway diversion highways.

    In Brazil’s Sao Paulo State the authorities are looking to develop infrastructure projects by offering a series of road concession deals. In all some 1,000km of road concessions are being made available. This includes a number of road sections managed by the state’s road department (DER-SP). The roads being offered as concession include a 120km stretch of the SP-294 route, a 95km section of the SP-304 route and a 6km stretch of the SP-308 route.

  • US$766.15bn to be invested in China road network expansion

    Over the next 17 years, China will invest US$766.15 billion (CNY 4.70tn) to expand the country's major road network by over two times. By 2030, the length of roads in China is expected to total 5.8 million kilometres, with trunk ways and highways making up 7% of the total.     A new highway in China’s Guangdong Province is being planned, with construction due to commence in 2019. The 54km link will improve transport for Jiangmen City and is expected to open to traffic in 2022. Called the Yinzhouhu Highway, the project is expected to cost US$1.4 billion to construct. The high expense of the project for its length is due to the undulating terrain, with the need for four tunnel stretches as well as 25 bridges.
