Highway projects for China’s Henan Province

A series of highway projects have been budgeted for China’s Henan Province. In all some US$15.8 billion will be spent on 14 separate highway projects, which will stretch in excess of 1,000km in all. The projects are starting in 2022. The work includes building seven cross-provincial highways, three urban highways and two Zhengzhou City highways. They also include building two Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway diversion highways.

    Key highway projects are being planned in Vietnam. The Ninh Binh-Thanh Hoa expressway will run 127km and is expected to cost US$1.6 billion to construct. The Nghi Son-Bai Vot expressway will cost $1 billion to build and Vietnam's Ministry of Transport (MoT) hopes to source a loan from the World Bank for this project.     In China a new 88km highway is planned that will connect Chengde with capital Beijing. The highway will connect Chengde in Hebei Province to Beijing's Pinggu district. The project will cost some US$1.32 billion. The route will feature a design speed of 100km/h. Construction work on the Chengde section of the highway is due to commence in 2014.
