Greenland tunnel project planned

A new tunnel project is being planned for Greenland.

The tender process is underway for a road and tunnel link for Greenland’s capital, Nuuk. The project calls for the construction of 1.45km of road as well as the 1.075km tunnel section. A number of firms are competing for the tender at present. The award for the tender process is due to be announced in April 2021. Financing for the road and tunnel is being provided by Denmark. Construction is intended to commence in mid-2021. The work should take around one year to carry out.

    An official opening has been carried out for Australia’s Legacy Way Tunnel. The 4.6km route located in Brisbane, Queensland is open to traffic.
