Duna Aszfalt wins M44 dualing between Bekescsaba and Kondoros

Hungarian contractor Duna Aszfalt has won the tender for building a section of the M44 dual carriageway between Bekescsaba and Kondoros. The €133 million deal is for 18km of the M44. The other bidders were Strabag Altalanos Epito, Colas Hungaria with Colas Kozlekedesepito and a consortium including Pannon-Doprastav, Subterra-Raab and Domper. Hungarian contractor Duna Aszfalt has won the tender for building a section of the M44 dual carriageway between Bekescsaba and Kondoros.

The €133 million deal is for 18km of the M44.

The other bidders were Strabag Altalanos Epito, Colas Hungaria with Colas Kozlekedesepito and a consortium including Pannon-Doprastav, Subterra-Raab and Domper.

Békéscsaba is near the Romanian border with the M5 iterchange at Kecskemét.

Meanwhile, under the Rural Development Programme, the government said it will boost finances for upgrading roads around smaller towns to more than €90 million.

    4782 Femern, the company charged with building what will be the world’s longest submerged tunnel, has prequalified companies for consulting work.

    The companies will be able to tender for two framework agreements, one for client consulting services and the other for technical in-house consulting services.

    Femern is responsible for building the 18km Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link immersed tunnel between Rødbyhavn in Denmark and Puttgarden in Germany. The estimated cost has increased over the past several years to reach around €7.4 billion.

    Plans are underway for the Warsaw Ring Road project in Poland. Italian contractor Astaldi made the lowest offer for the project at €289.95 million. The work calls for a 4.6km section of the route to be constructed, including what will be Poland’s longest road tunnel once complete. There have been 10 bidders for the tender, being handled by the Polish road authority GDDKiA. Other bidders included the Porr Polska consortium and a construction consortium comprising contractors Budimex and Strabag.
