Czech tenders for section of D11, part of the E67 Via Baltica

The Czech road management company RSD is seeking a contractor for construction of 15km of the D11 motorway between Hradec Kralove and Smirice. Both towns are in northern Czech Republic, near the Polish border. The work is worth around €218.3 million, according to Czech media, and is one of the last remaining sections of the D11 to be built. Construction of another section between the town of Trutnov and the border with Poland is likely to start in 2019 and the Jaromer-Trutnov section after 2020.

The Czech road management company RSD is seeking a contractor for construction of 15km of the D11 motorway between Hradec Kralove and Smirice.

Both towns are in northern Czech Republic, near the Polish border.

The work is worth around €218.3 million, according to Czech media, and is one of the last remaining sections of the D11 to be built.

Construction of another section between the town of Trutnov and the border with Poland is likely to start in 2019 and the Jaromer-Trutnov section after 2020.

The D11 motorway connecting Prague and Hradec Králové began in 1978. It is part of European route E67 – the so-called Via Baltica - from the Czech capital Prague to the Finnish capital Helsinki by way of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

    In the Czech Republic tenders worth €146.15 million are now open for bids. The bidding process was started for the 50 tenders by the Czech Roads and Motorways Directorate (RSD). Most of the tenders relate to the D1 and D3 highway project, the Prague Ring Road and the R6 link between Prague and Karlovy Vary and for documentation and technical supervision of the upgrade works. RSD will also spend €32.4 million on the technical supervision of smaller projects in the next four years.
