Colombia highway construction projects secure funding

A finance source has been secured for major highway projects in Colombia. The Rumichaca-Pasto and Montes de Maria highways are being constructed by Spanish contractor Sacyr. A package of loans worth a total of US$110 million will pay for the highway work. This financing is being supplied jointly by CIFI, Banco BTG Pactual Cayman Branch and Banco Pichincha Panama.

A package of loans worth a total of US$110 million will pay for the highway work. This financing is being supplied jointly by CIFI, Banco BTG Pactual Cayman Branch and Banco Pichincha Panama.

    A road widening project worth US$134.3 million is now going ahead in Ecuador. The road connecting Aloag with Santo Domingo is being improved along a 100km stretch, widening the route so that it will feature two lanes in either direction instead of the single lane in either direction at present. This will boost the transport connection between Pichincha Province and Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas Province.   • Argentina road works; funding secured

    Funding has been secured for a series of road works in Argentina. The Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) is providing US$300 million in the shape of a loan for work on a number of key routes. The road projects being targeted include Routes 6 and Route 8 in Rio Negro; Route 23 in Villa Elisa; the Gualeguaychu ring-road; Route 1 in Catamarca. Meanwhile the finance package forms part of a much wider plan from the IADB to develop infrastructure in Argentina.
