Colombia highway construction projects secure funding

A finance source has been secured for major highway projects in Colombia. The Rumichaca-Pasto and Montes de Maria highways are being constructed by Spanish contractor Sacyr. A package of loans worth a total of US$110 million will pay for the highway work. This financing is being supplied jointly by CIFI, Banco BTG Pactual Cayman Branch and Banco Pichincha Panama.

A finance source has been secured for major highway projects in Colombia. The Rumichaca-Pasto and Montes de Maria highways are being constructed by Spanish contractor 3959 Sacyr. A package of loans worth a total of US$110 million will pay for the highway work. This financing is being supplied jointly by CIFI, Banco BTG Pactual Cayman Branch and Banco Pichincha Panama.

Current Sacyr projects in Colombia include a bridge costing $40.11 million (COP 80 billion), as well as the $116.79 million (COP 233 billion) road scheme between Buenaventura-Loboguerrero. The country has embarked on a major road development programme, via serious and transparent processes, according to Sacyr.

    Funding has been sourced for Colombia’s Autopista al Mar 2 fourth generation (4G) highway project. In all US$652 million has been secured for the work, with the China Development Bank providing $418 million. Other banks involved in the financing are Colombia’s Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional (FDN) and Japan’s Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.

    Colombia's national transport infrastructure agency ANI will auction 13 road projects with a combined value of more than US$7.87 billion (COP 15 trillion) in H1 2014, out of 40 planned.
