Colombia: Bogota-Tunja road project completed

Work on the dual carriageway project between the cities of Bogota and Tunja in the Boyaca region is finished, said Colombia's vice president German Vargas Lleras. The 206km project, costing nearly US$367 million, included construction of a 6km dual carriageway.

    The consortium building Nigeria’s key Second Niger River Crossing, close to the city of Onitsha, says that the bridge will be ready for traffic on time, according to the contract requirements.   • Turkey to tender for Izmir-Candarli beltway contract

    Turkish highway authorities will tender construction of the remaining part the Izmir-Menemen-Aliaga-Candarli motorway on 15 February. The contract will be build-operate-transfer for the 76km section between the towns of Aliaga and Candarli. Constructions is expected to take three years.     The project to build the Riederwaldtunnel highway tunnel in Germany is now likely to cost €477 million. The project was originally expected to cost €322 million. The tunnel will stretch 1.1km and will provide a connection between the A66 and A661 routes. Construction work on the tunnel, located near the city of Frankfurt, is expected to commence in 2020.
