Capital city ring road for Costa Rica

Construction work is underway on the ring road around Costa Rica’s capital city, San Jose. Up to 72% of the work on the US$163 million Circunvalacion Norte project has been carried out so far.

Much of the financing required for the work has been supplied by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI). A consortium comprising Estrella and H Solis is carrying out the work for the client, Costa Rica’s national road authority, Consejo Nacional de Vialidad (Conavi).

In all the project has been split into six separate sections. Progress varies on each of these stretches however.

    Colombia’s minister of transport Natalia Abello Vives has announced that nine 4G public private partnership projects will receive financing this year.     Plans are underway for the Warsaw Ring Road project in Poland. Italian contractor Astaldi made the lowest offer for the project at €289.95 million. The work calls for a 4.6km section of the route to be constructed, including what will be Poland’s longest road tunnel once complete. There have been 10 bidders for the tender, being handled by the Polish road authority GDDKiA. Other bidders included the Porr Polska consortium and a construction consortium comprising contractors Budimex and Strabag.
