Cameroon construction contracts being offered

Important road projects are now being offered for international tender in Cameroon. Two separate projects are being offered, both of which will be handled under the PPP model.

One contract will be for a 92km highway connecting with Kribi, which will boost transport to and from the important port. The other contract will be for the second stage of works to improve the 136km route connecting Cameroon’s two biggest cities, Yaoundé and Douala.

The highway is being constructed in Guangxi Province and will connect Guangyang with Pingle, with the project forming part of the Guangxi 13th Five-Year Plan. Because of the terrain, the route will feature 18 tunnel stretches as well as 58 bridges, boosting its cost to an estimated US$2.02 billion.
