Budget for Russia-China road links

Plans are being drawn up in Russia for the road links that will connect with Western China. The work will include rebuilding existing links as well as building new roads, with completion expected by 2024. Four separate road projects are being prioritised. One route will include a highway through Kazan while another will see the construction of a new tolled highway.

    Morocco is planning to upgrade and widen several of its major road links during 2016. The aim of the works will be to boost capacity as well as to improve stretches of road that suffer from regular flooding or which have an unacceptably high rate of crashes. In all around 825km of roads will be improved by the programme of works, while there are also plans to improve 16 bridges.

    The tender process is commencing in Croatia for a major bridge project. The new Peljeski Bridge construction project is expected to cost some €526 million. Some of the financing required for the bridge will be provided by the EU, which is supplying €330 million, around 70% of the funding needed for the work. Once the bridge opens to traffic, it will provide an important transport link for Croatia, connecting road links to the Adriatic Coastline. The work is planned to be carried out in four separate phases,
