Bosnia’s Autoceste FB&H re-tenders for Pocitelj-Zvirovici project

Bosnia’ public roads authority Autoceste FB&H has re-tendered for construction of 12km of the Pocitelj-Zvirovici part of the Corridor 5C motorway. The work, including the 945m Pocitelj Bridge, is worth around €100million with financing by the European Investment Bank (EIB). A previous tender was called in 2014 when the contract has been awarded to Strabag and Euroasfalt companies, in spite of better offers from Viadukt and Hering, according to media reports.

Bosnia’ public roads authority Autoceste FB&H has re-tendered for construction of 12km of the Pocitelj-Zvirovici part of the Corridor 5C motorway.


The work, including the 945m Pocitelj Bridge, is worth around €100million with financing by the 1054 European Investment Bank (EIB).

A previous tender was called in 2014 when the contract has been awarded to 945 Strabag and 5741 Euroasfalt companies, in spite of better offers from 5438 Viadukt and 8004 Hering, according to media reports.

But tenders were dismissed after the EIB had concerns over the publishing of confidential information regarding the tenders.

The latest tender was called in March this year after the best offer has been submitted by a consortium made up of Power Construction Corporation of China and Azvirt. Tender was also attended by Fernas & Ozgun Insaat from Turkey, Euro-Asfalt, Strabag, China Gezhouba Group Company Limited and Cengiz Insaat Sanayi ve Ticaret from Turkey.

The project is worth a total of €133 million and involves building a section of highway carrying three lanes in either direction. The firm will work on the project to build another stretch of the A1 highway in Poland. The 17km long Section C begins at the Kamieńsk junction and ends at Radomsko, where the construction of a motorway interchange forms part of the order.
