Bosnia road financing solutions being discussed

Bosnia is investigating a series of road financing solutions. The country intends to borrow €150 million to construct the Corridor 5C highway project. A loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is expected to provide much of the financing required, however the terms have still to be finalised.

    Bids are now being offered for a major highway project in Bonsia. This follows the opening of the tender process for the project by Bosnian highway company Autoputevi Republike Srpske (ARS). The project is located in the autonomous entity Republika Srpska and is for construction of the Doboj-Vukosavlje highway.     Croatia’s roads agency Hrvatske Ceste will soon start evaluating tenders for the controversial Peljeski Bridge project, according to national media. Bids for construction of the four-lane 2.4km long bridge have been submitted by the China Road and Bridge Corporation, Austria's Strabag as well as consortia headed by Italy’s Astaldi and the Turkish company Ictas. The bridge will connect Croatian territory by traversing the Adriatic Sea’s Mali Ston Bay.
