Bidding for Malaysian highway deal

Bidding is underway in Malaysia for sections of the massive Pan Borneo Highway project. The Malaysian construction firm Gadang Holdings is planning to bid for a number of sections of the project. The company will submit its bid for the highway work in early 2020. The sections of the project it is tendering for have a total estimated value of just over US$223 million although the firm has yet to disclose details of its bid for the work.

    Plans are in hand for the Malaysian sections of the Pan Borneo Highway project. Local contractor Cahya Mata Sarawak (CMS) plans to take part in the bidding for the Pan Borneo Highway. CMS is bidding for at least one of the 10 work packages being offered. In all the 10 sections of the project will be worth some US%7.42 billion.

    A new partnership between Naim Holdings and Samuda has been formed in Malaysia with the intention of bidding for major road projects. The firms are keen to bid on the coastal highway, which will connect with the Pan Borneo Highway. The two companies are also working together as a joint venture at present on a US$284.7 million contract to build an 89km stretch of the Pan Borneo Highway in Sarawak, one of 11 sections of the route currently under construction.
