Belarus bridges and highway rebuilding

Belarus has plans for rebuilding of 12 bridges and an important highway stretch. The bridges and highway section form part of the M3 route connecting capital Minsk with the city of Vitebsk in the north east of the country. The project is expected to cost €375 million. Belarus has plans for rebuilding of 12 bridges and an important highway stretch. The bridges and highway section form part of the M3 route connecting capital Minsk with the city of Vitebsk in the north east of the country. The project is expected to cost €375 million. A portion of the necessary funding will be provided by the 1166 European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Improving the route will help develop the country’s economy. Vitebsk provides an important trading stop for Belarus as it lies close to the border with Russia and is comparatively close to the Russian city of Smolensk.
