Azerbaijan invites bids for reconstruction of Baku-Shamakhi road

The Azerbaijan state infrastructure agency Azeravtoyol has announced a tender for reconstruction of the Baku-Shamakhi-Muganli road. The project includes expansion of the highway to four lanes on many sections of the rouad that goes through northern mountainous terrain. The World Bank and Azeravtoyol recently signed an agreement for the bank to fund the work up to US$140 million. Work is expected to take a year.

The Azerbaijan state infrastructure agency Azeravtoyol has announced a tender for reconstruction of the Baku-Shamakhi-Muganli road.

The project includes expansion of the highway to four lanes on many sections of the rouad that goes through northern mountainous terrain.

The World Bank and Azeravtoyol recently signed an agreement for the bank to fund the work up to US$140 million.

Work is expected to take a year.

    A new bridge will be built spanning the Samur River, which forms part of the border between Azerbaijan and Russia. Construction work is expected to commence later this year. Much of the initial financing for the bridge project will come from Azerbaijan’s budget, although Russia’s Federal Road Agency will pay its portion in due course, as well as funding work on the connecting roads.     Arab partners have been secured as co-investors for construction of the third and fourth phase of Moscow’s Central Ring Road, Russia’s Interfax news agency reported. Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), made the announcement earlier this month during a meeting of the State Council's presidium in Novosibirsk, chaired by president Vladimir Putin.     Financial close has been reached for expansion of the A9 motorway near Amsterdam in the Netherlands. BNG Bank, DZ BANK, ING, KBC, SMBC and Société Général have made available a short-term debt of US$174 million (€140 million) and half of the long-term debt of nearly $509 million (€410 million).
