Australia road contract awarded to South Korean firm
The 13km M4-M5 Link in Sydney, Australia is to be constructed by the South Korean contractor, Samsung C&T. The project is worth US$788.5 million. The new link will be constructed as an underpass and is due for completion in mid-2023.

The 13km M4-M5 Link in Sydney, Australia is to be constructed by the South Korean contractor, 1026 Samsung C&T. The project is worth US$788.5 million. The new link will be constructed as an underpass and is due for completion in mid-2023.
Italian contractor Salini Impregilo is to carry out a major road construction project in Abu Dhabi. The new road link will connect two of the islands forming part of Abu Dhabi, with the work expected to be complete by 2020. The project is worth US$200 million in all and Salini Impregilo will carry out both the design and building portions of the work involved.
A series of safety upgrades will be introduced for Australia’s historic Great Ocean Road. The Australian Federal Government and Victoria Government are co-funding improvement works worth nearly US$40 million (A$40 million).
Work is now underway on the new Zambezi River crossing, which will improve transport links between Botswana and Zambia. The new bridge crosses the river close to the Zambian town of Kazungula and is costing some US$259.3 million to construct. The bridge will be 923m long and will carry both rail and road traffic, with border posts located at either end.
