Australia road contract awarded to South Korean firm
The 13km M4-M5 Link in Sydney, Australia is to be constructed by the South Korean contractor, Samsung C&T. The project is worth US$788.5 million. The new link will be constructed as an underpass and is due for completion in mid-2023.

A new dual carriageway will connect the towns of Legnica and Lubawka in southern Poland. Funding for the project is being supplied by the EU in the shape of a subsidy worth €440.85 million. The S3 dual carriageway project is important for southern Poland as Lubawka lies close to the border with the Czech Republic. Transurban, an Australian manager of highways and developer of urban toll roads, saw toll revenue for the December 2014 quarter increase by more than 63% to US$304 million compared to the same period last year.
For the half-year ended December 2014, toll revenue rose by 63.7% to nearly $602 million, compared to the corresponding period in 2013, a company statement said.

Contractor China Roads and Bridges is building a new bridge link in Mozambique as part of a project worth some US$725 million. The contractor is also building the new ring road around Mozambique’s capital Maputo in a deal worth some $315 million, with the work due for completion by the end of 2014. The project for the Maputo-Catembe River Bridge also includes construction of road connections to Ponte do Ouro.
Vietnam’s Belt Road Three project is being planned at present, with some of the financing still being sought. The route will run between Tan Van District and Nhon Trach District, crossing the Dong Nai River. The project is expected to cost US$2.46 billion to construct and will feature four lanes initially, with additional lanes being built in future phases. The 89.3km route has been approved and runs through the provinces of Binh Duong, Dong Nai and Long An, as well as through the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh
