Australia road contract awarded to South Korean firm
The 13km M4-M5 Link in Sydney, Australia is to be constructed by the South Korean contractor, Samsung C&T. The project is worth US$788.5 million. The new link will be constructed as an underpass and is due for completion in mid-2023.

A new 8.76km expressway is being planned in Haryana, in India. This project will be built by Indian firm L&T. The project is costing US$161 million. The work will be carried out under the engineering, construction and procurement model and was awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The route will feature four lanes in either direction and the work also includes building a bridge, five underpasses and facilities for buses.

Construction of a US$7.17 billion (A$9 billion) highway in New South Wales, Australia will require the demolition of up to 100 homes to prepare the route. The properties that will have to be demolished have a combined value of some $318.62 million (A$400 million), with owners having to be paid the necessary compensation. Work on a major road project now looks set to commence shortly in Ethiopia.
