Australia road contract awarded to South Korean firm
The 13km M4-M5 Link in Sydney, Australia is to be constructed by the South Korean contractor, Samsung C&T. The project is worth US$788.5 million. The new link will be constructed as an underpass and is due for completion in mid-2023.

Work on the eastern section of the Hunter Expressway project in New South Wales in Australia will be carried out by Theiss. The firm won the deal for preliminary design and development of the US$736 million (A$825 million) project, which is for a 13.3km section of the link. Theiss is working on the project with Hyder Consulting and Parsons Brinkerhoff. Once the Hunter Expressway is complete in late 2013, it will cut travel times from the Hunter to Newcastle by 28 minutes.
A South Korean contractor is to carry out construction work on a key Qatar project. The contract for the project was awarded by Qatar’s public works authority Ashghal to Daewoo Engineering & Construction (Daewoo E&C).

The deal involves upgrading a key section of highway, with Transurban holding a 50% stake in Interlink Roads. In addition, Abigroup will carry out a $315 million deal to widen a 21km section of Sydney's M5 highway has been secured by Abigroup. The M5 work is due for completion in 2014 and includes widening 21km of the M5 from two lanes to three lanes between Camden Valley Highway and King Georges Road.
