Called the new Safe Motorway and Road Network, the programme will be worth an impressive US$16.7 billion. The first six of the planned routes will be developed under the PPP model. Argentina’s national road authority, Direccion Nacional de Vialidad (DNV), hopes to receive its first bids for the projects in the first quarter of 2018, with construction intended to commence in the second quarter. The concessions for the roads are intended to allow the winners to raise additional operational revenue from operating service stations and other commercial activities adjacent to the routes.
