Angola road project financing found

Financing has been secured for a project to help reduce chronic congestion in Angola’s capital, Luanda. The project calls for the upgrade of Corimba Boulevard. Netherlands-based bank ING will deliver the key portion of financing, US$483.4 million, for the project, which will be used for dredging works as well as reclaiming land along the coast. Financing has been secured for a project to help reduce chronic congestion in Angola’s capital, Luanda. The project calls for the upgrade of Corimba Boulevard. Netherlands-based bank ING will deliver the key portion of financing, US$483.4 million, for the project, which will be used for dredging works as well as reclaiming land along the coast. This portion of the project is being handled by the firms Urbeinvest Projectos Imobiliarios and Van Oord Dredging and Marine Contractors. Meanwhile the road construction work is being handled by the contractors Landscape and China Road and Bridge Corporation Angola.

The funds will be used to upgrade 17 important road links, although a focus for the repairs will be a stretch of National Highway 321 connecting Dondo with Maria Theresa.     Road rebuilding work will be carried out on major road links in Angola’s capital Luanda. The projects are worth US$125.46 million in all and have been approved by the Government of Angola. One contract worth $78.4 million will be handled by the Portuguese contractor Mota Engil and involves repairs and improvements to roads in and around the city.

Work is being carried out on six road projects in the country that measure a total of 600km, as well as a bridge, with this all costing some US$490 million.
