Perkins has developed 9.3, 12.5, 15.2 and 18.1litre engines

299 Perkins’ industrial engine range has been extended upwards with the development of 9.3, 12.5, 15.2 and 18.1litre engines that are based on a worldwide platform enabling engine production to be structured to meet emissions regulations ranging from Stage 3A through to anticipated Stage V regulations.

“We are expecting there to be five levels of emissions regulations that will need to be met for worldwide markets in the short-term,” said Oliver Lythgoe, who is responsible for product concept marketing at Perkins. “And this new platform will let us adapt after-treatment packages and software to meet regional market emissions from Latin America, China and Russia, for example.”

Power outputs across the range extend from 310-470kW in Stage IIIa guise, and from 340-597kW in Stage IV/V trim.
