Durable drives from Continental

Continental says it has developed an innovative chassis system for compact loaders.
February 3, 2020 Read time: 1 min
The new chassis system for compact loaders features a track with rubber drive lugs

The track has drive lugs made of solid rubber instead of a conventional track drive with rubberised metal ribs. The vibration of a conventional metal-on-metal track drive can generate noise levels and lead to a jerky drive for the operator, while limiting speed and resulting in premature component wear because of high local stresses. Compared with a metal-on-metal track featuring rubberised metal ribs, this new design is said to achieve optimised load distribution and enable low vibration and low-noise operation. Overall system lifetime is also said to be longer because the drive lugs are made of solid rubber.
