Italian firm 8074 Carmix is now offering two versatile new mixers, the 3.500 TC and the 5.5 XL

The 3.500 TC is said to benefit from advanced technology and features more ergonomic controls, better visibility and improved productivity. The self-loading mixer is versatile and productive and can be operated on a wide array of sites with difficult conditions as it can cope with slopes of up to 30%.

The machine can deliver 3.5m3 and is equipped with a double mixing blade as well as a sophisticated weighing system. Called Concrete-Mate, the system allows the mix to be weighed inside the barrel and is claimed to be more accurate and reliable than rival machines.

Its sophisticated digital Promix system is said to ensure optimum mixing in all applications. It has a stainless steel probe housed inside the mixer and a display in the cab provides the operator with details on the slump, temperature, moisture and rotational speed of the concrete mixer in real time. The data is updated every 10 seconds and sent to the easy to read display, with the system telling the operator when the mixture is ready. The operator has a continuous flow of data on the concrete and this information can be stored in an external computer or sent to mobile devices.

Moving up a size class, the 5.5 XL is the biggest machine in the Carmix range, offering productivity, versatility and high quality output according to the firm. Power comes from a six-cylinder, Perkins diesel delivering 112kW and driving to all four wheels, allowing the machine to cope with slopes of up to 30%. All-wheel steering allows its operation in compact spaces while the firm claims that the machine is capable of producing large quantities of concrete on site. The mixer unit has a capacity of 7,600litres with an effective yield of 5.5m3. It has double mixing screws and a drum featuring hydraulic motor rotation as well as a planetary gearbox, allowing a uniform and compact mix. The Joymix system controls loading and discharge functions and an optional weighing system features load cells under the mixer unit, to help optimise concrete quality.
