The move is part of a bigger deal which will see Azelis supply BASF product lines used in construction, coatings and ink.

“Azelis has been a reliable partner in Turkey,” said Erkin Ataman, Manager, Dispersions, Resins and Additives for Turkey and Northwest Africa at BASF. “It has led us to decide that we would develop this partnership further in the coming years.”

“We are very pleased to be the distributor of BASF Asphalt Performance products in Turkey,” said Sertaç Sürür, managing director of Azelis Turkey. “BASF is a leading supplier of asphalt performance products worldwide, with a particular strength in cold-mix applications. It has an excellent reputation for quality and innovation, which perfectly matches Azelis’ ambition of providing first-class service to all of its customers. BASF’s polymer dispersions for asphalt modification further expand Azelis’ current product portfolio, thereby strengthening its cooperation with asphalt customers.”

BASF has supplied modifiers for bitumen emulsion or cold mix for many years and is now supplying additives for hot mix, all based on styrene butadiene rubber, under its Butonal brand and its Asphalt Performance platform. Its latest product is Butonal 5126 X, a latex polymer modification for hot mix asphalt, designed to improve a pavement’s resistance to rutting or cracking.
