Aggregate Industries moves plant to Inverness city centre

Aggregate Industries said that its new plant in the centre of Inverness, Scotland, provides warm mix asphalt to allow surfacing contractors to extend their range of products. The type ECO asphalt mixing plant range offers outputs from 100tonnes/hour to 320tonnes/hour to ensure maximum mobility and flexibility. The machines can be operated as stationary plant but the can also handle fast location changes without problems, according to Benninghoven. Benninghoven has always relied on loading skip technology as the link between mixer and loading silo. When working like this, the

Massenza has started 2014 with a new approach to its range of bitumen emulsion plants, streamlining its four larger models into two, and adding a smaller plant. This has allowed Massenza to optimise the design and components for each size of plant, which in turn allows the company to offer its customers a more competitive deal. At the same time, Massenza has made three major technical improvements to the plants: a new type of material for the water tank which resists corrosion; a new dosing system for th

A good quality mix plays an important role in road construction and the asphalt manufacturing process starts with the mix design in the laboratory, which takes place under controlled conditions and depends on the materials available locally. A mix design that matches the plant's limitations has a higher probability of success. The properties of the aggregates, such as water absorption, abrasiveness, and the equivalent sand index, may influence the quality of the mix produced in the plant. In the laboratory
