Ardent Hire Solutions, the UK’s biggest telehandler hirer, is expanding its fleet with an order for 525 JCB Loadall models worth €30.2 million.

Ardent Hire Solutions says that the UK construction hire equipment market is rebounding strongly from the Covid-19 pandemic.

The JCB order spans the compact 525-60 to the 540-200 models, which have reaches of between 6-20m.

All the new JCB machines come with JCB LiveLink telematics technology, explained Julian O’Neill, Ardent’s chief financial officer. The telematics provide real-time feeds to support Ardent’s award-winning Site Manager digital platform that helps construction companies improve safety, increase productivity and reduce cost.

JCB says that the machines have already started rolling off the production line its headquarters in Rocester, in the English county of Staffordshire along with 25 3CX backhoe loaders that are part of the large order.

The latest order follows one from Ardent in 2019 for €87 million worth of JCB machines, noted Steve Fox, group managing director for major accounts at JCB. “The size of the order shows enormous faith in the quality of JCB’s machines and also underlines the need to invest in new machinery to support the growth in the UK construction industry, which continues to recover strongly after the Covid-19 pandemic.”

London-headquartered Ardent Hire Solutions has 11 hire depots with more than 7,000 units for rent and with an average age of less than three years.
