GOMACO offering more functionality on latest paver

GOMACO is offering yet more functionality on its already versatile GT-3600 slipformer with the release of the latest Xtreme GT-3600 machine.

The Xtreme GT-3600 machine is said to be able to handle tight radii when slipforming more easily than previous generation machines

The firm says that its GT-3600 was the first three-track machine to slipform a 610mm radius, but with the development of the Xtreme package tight radiuspaving is now easier and more efficient than before. The Xtreme package adds the firm’s proven G+ radius software with slew drives, smart-sensored hydraulics and intelligence to the 218 GOMACO GT-3600.

Xtreme steering and ultimate intelligence has been added to each of the GT-3600’s three tracks. The new package also includes rotary-sensored slew drives, sensored All-Track Steering and All-Track Positioning, and smart hydraulic cylinders. As a result, the Xtreme GT-3600’s tracks can now rotate further than before. The smart cylinders allow the G+ control system to identify the exact position of all three tracks so it can make steering adjustments as needed. This system is said to make steering control far more precise.

The package allows the machine to slipform tight radii on stringline. The G+ radius software means that the operator can program the size of the radius into the controller. The G+ system then calibrates and manages the parameters needed to ensure the machine turns smoothly through the set radius, including track angles and individual variable track speeds. As the Xtreme GT-3600 approaches the radius, with the necessary values already dialled in, the operator activates the radius program. The machine then slipforms around the radius, making it easier for any operator to pour a curb and gutter radius, according to the firm.

The G+ control system also easily interfaces with any of the major 3D guidance systems for the same smooth control. A smart hydraulic cylinder is also used for intelligent offset when telescoping and sideshifting the mold mounting system. The smart cylinders provide G+ the ability of repeatable mold offset. The trimmerhead and mold also have independent vertical adjustments for raising and lowering, to work around job site challenges.

The Xtreme GT-3600 is powered by the latest Tier 4 engine technology. In addition, the machine has a new optimised cooling package with a hydraulic fan controlled by G+. This adapts the cooling needs to individual job site conditions for a quiet and efficient operation. Fuel efficiency has also been optimised and combined with an increased fuel capacity for an uninterrupted day of paving. The Xtreme GT-3600 is also available with GOMACO Remote Diagnostics (GRD) for machine troubleshooting, diagnostic reviews and remote software updates.
