Egypt’s new concrete highway connecting Cairo with Sues

CEMEX has played a key role in a highway construction job in Egypt. The company has supplied 130,000m3 of concrete that has been used for the construction of the new Cairo–Suez highway project. The project is of note as this is Egypt’s first concrete highway and if it proves successful, more are likely to be built using this construction method.     Work is starting shortly on the construction of a new highway in India’s Rajasthan State. The highway project will be carried out by the contractor GHV (India) and the package of works was awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The work involves building a stretch of the NH-925A route that runs from Gagaria to Baori Kalan and on to Serwa-Bakhasar.     Plans have been unveiled for a new tunnel stretch in Sydney, Australia. The project is likely to cost US$1.98 billion (A$2.6 billion). This will involve building an underground extension to the F6 route in Sydney, providing a connection between the M5 and President Avenue.
