Panama plans projects

Brazilian contractor Odebrecht will carry out a major project in Panama City worth US$778 million.

Brazilian contractor 1305 Odebrecht will carry out a major project in Panama City worth US$778 million. The project includes work on the road linking Avenida Balboa and Avenida de Los Poetas. In addition, Odebrecht will carry out road repair work worth $168.6 million in Panama City's Old Quarter. Spanish contractor FCC will carry out work worth $385.5 million on Panama's Via Brasil road. Meanwhile a consortium comprising 2765 ICA and Meco will widen the Domingo Diaz road between San Miguelito and Corredor Sur to six lanes, in deal worth $238 million. In all, Panama's Ministry of Public Works (MOP) has awarded five different contracts corresponding to the second phase of the road redevelopment project in Panama City. The contracts are worth over $1.7 billion and form part of the project to reorganise the capital's road network.
