According to VSS, its new slurry paver control system will boost productivity and performance
RSSThe innovative EZ-OP Monitoring system from 2852 Valley Slurry Seal (VSS) is said to help boost productivity for slurry seal and micro-surfacing crews. The unit can be fitted to the firm's well-proven Macropaver 12B model to boost performance. The 12B is a high production machine able to deliver average outputs of 2.7-3.6tonnes/min and consistent quality due to electronic sequencing, while it is also highly durable and can operate reliably and continuously in difficult conditions. The machine has become more productive and efficient still with the development of the improved EZ-OP Monitoring System, which is said to provide information that decreases training time for new operators.

According to VSS, the short surfacing season means that work needs to be productive and the firm claims that its new control system will help make its machines much easier to use for relatively unskilled and inexperienced operators. The display is highly visible while laying slurry and controls the material sequence while providing easy adjustment. The unit monitors the pugmill and pugmill load and can stop material flow to prevent stalls or stops, allowing an operator to modify material settings and avoid the need for lengthy clean-outs.

The monitoring system automates calibration, performs calculations and can store multiple calibrations, allowing an operator to switch from one project to another that requires different materials. The operator enters the new mix design and the system displays the correct machine settings and shows the mix ratios.

In addition, the system shows the total material used/load and/project, displays material ratios in terms of mix design and comes with built-in diagnostics. Users can specify data in standard or metric units and the unit offers language choices of English, Chinese and Spanish.
