Secmair’s new sprayer runs off electric power

Instead of being modified from a diesel model, the machine has been designed from the ground up to run from electric power. The machine also features extra heat insulation compared to the firm’s conventional models and the spokesperson said, “Particular attention has been made to double the thermal efficiency.”

The spraying system does not take power from the truck motor and instead runs from a battery pack. There is sufficient battery power for the machine to complete a working shift and a fast charging system is fitted. In addition, solar panels on the roof can double the working time on sunny days.

Using electric power, the machine can work during the day without causing a disturbance  and the spokesperson commented, “It can operate silently.

The machine looks unlike previous generation emulsion sprayers and the spokesperson said, “It looks more like a delivery truck.”
In addition, the firm is now offering an improved version of its Chipsealer, 40 years after the first model was launched. This now comes with a smart control system with a touchscreen in the cab and a joystick control.
