A-Plant boosts its UK hire fleet with Hamm ride-on HD rollers

A-Plant has invested €3.32 million (US$3.4 million) to purchase more than 200 ride-on rollers manufactured by Hamm, part of the Wirtgen Group, for its hire fleet in the UK. 6264 A-Plant has invested €3.32 million (US$3.4 million) to purchase more than 200 ride-on rollers manufactured by 228 Hamm, part of the 364 Wirtgen Group, for its hire fleet in the UK.

The Hamm Rollers are from the slim HD CompactLine small tandem roller range and are designed for areas where space is limited. But the HD CompactLine has significantly larger drum diameters than other machines in its class and offers drivers an unrestricted front view due to a concave front end.

The bulk of the A-Plant orders have been placed for the HD 8 VV and HD 12 VV ride-on rollers. The 8 version has a roller drum width of 0.8m and engine power of 14.8kW, while the 12 version has a 1.2m drum width and engine power of 22.9kW. All the machines will be delivered to A-Plant depots by the end of October. A-Plant has also placed an additional order exceeding €265,000 ($301,000) with A Y Equipment for 6791 Ammann trench rollers and 2.5T tracked dumpers.

These purchases follow A-Plant’s €46.5 million ($52.8 million) order recently placed with 255 JCB for over 1,000 machines.
