LiuGong’s new paver is aimed at emerging markets

LiuGong’s new CLG509A paver is aimed at use on projects for roads, parking lots and airports. The firm says that it is suitable for bituminous concrete, stabilising soil, lime-ash soil and all kinds of road materials while it can handle paving widths of up to 9m and has a maximum throughput of 700tonnes/ hour. The paver’s on-board electronics are said to optimise mixing of materials with a load sensor playing a key role in proportioning values and reducing segregation.

Soil stabilisation offers a cost effective solution for road construction in the right conditions Ensuring the soil underneath the aggregate base of a road has been stabilised with cement, lime or fly-ash can provide a greater working life and a reduced risk of problems that can arise as the road ages, such as subsidence. The technology works particularly well in ground with high clay content and where there are local shortages of stone for use in aggregates. Reducing the need for aggregates where they are

Designed to optimise throughput, the MT 3000-2i from Vögele is now available with an Offset PowerFeeder version. This highly productive material transfer vehicle helps ensure homogeneity and quality in high output paving operations such as for highways. Its large hopper and innovative conveying system are key features that allow a 35tonne storage capacity and high throughput. Its maximum conveying capacity is 1,200tonnes/hour, allowing the machine to handle the full load from a 25tonne capacity asphalt deli
  • Innovations in concrete paving offering improved surfaces

Major innovations in concrete paving systems will offer customers improved surface finishes - Mike Woof writes US manufacturers continue to dominate the concrete paving sector, with German firm Wirtgen being the only exception. A number of Chinese manufacturers have attempted to enter the concrete paving market with compact machines but have so far had little success in tempting customers away from proven brands. The expertise in for the niche segment of concrete paving remains the preserve of a handful
