Eurovia’s Breining micro-surfacing applicator: covered more than 75,000m² in southern England
Eurovia Specialist Treatments in the UK has added a new Breining applicator to its micro-surfacing fleet for automatic product mixing with pinpoint accuracy.

3281 Eurovia says that the new 174 Breining applicator has already demonstrated its improved efficiency capabilities in the English county of East Sussex where the machine has covered more than 75,000m².

The machine is fitted with the latest version of the Nova 2 computer system. This is assisted by an aggregate humidity sensor which allows precise mixing accuracy. The machine also has the latest Euro 4 Duetz computer-controlled power unit which has been installed to provide a far quieter and more fuel-efficient power supply, says Eurovia.

The vehicle offers an increased emulsion tank capacity of 4,000litres that allows the teams to complete two full hoppers of aggregate to every single fill-up of emulsion, saving valuable loading time during the day.

The built-in stainless steel additive tank allows the contents to be kept at a much more stable temperature, while the aggregate hopper – which is also made completely from stainless steel – has potentially twice the life of the conventional construction.

“The new machine strengthens the current fleet of micro-surfacing applicators,” said Paul Goosey, Eurovia UK production managing director.

Breining, part of the Fayat Road Maintenance Equipment Division of the Italian 2779 FAYAT Group, is based in Cossé le Vivien in north-west France.

Eurovia UK is a wholly owned subsidiary of Eurovia SAS, which is a European provider of transport and infrastructure services, and ultimately part of 5177 VINCI.

Advances in asphalt plant technology will boost efficiency for producers, while increasing the percentage of recycled materials that can be used in the mix - Mike Woof writes. Asphalt plant technology continues to advance as the rival firms fine-tune their technologies for greater performance. New plants can give higher quality output due to new control technologies, while also allowing for recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) to be used more efficiently, while still ensuring tight mix specifications are met. Asphalt plants are industrial units capable of producing asphalt on a full-scale basis An asphalt plant has several key functions and is designed to accurately dose the aggregates and asphalt to ensure the correct proportions, as established in the mix. The plant should dry and heat the aggregates completely, regardless of their nature and characteristics, in order to obtain perfect adhesiveness with the asphalt binder. The drying system’s combustion gases have to be filtered so that fine aggregates tran

Bergkamp is introducing the M310CS truck-mounted slurry seal and micro surfacing paver, with power coming from its Tier 4 emissions compliant truck engine. With PTO-driven hydraulic pumps, the M310CS has eliminated the need for a side engine. This reduces exhaust emissions, noise and vibration while delivering power and performance equal to the side engine package that is standard on the M310 Paver. The M310CS is said to be productive and features the sophisticated electronic mix control and diagnostic (EMC
